I was a contract php/web developer at this Zeeland, Michigan based company. I spent over a year developing custom intranet applications that are used to manage multi-million dollar projects. I played an integral part of project planning and collaborated closely with project stakeholders throughout development. I also led several meetings to introduce and demonstrate the applications. Everything was designed to be intuitive, easy to use, concise, mindfully organized, and aesthetically pleasing.

For over a decade I worked for a federally-funded company creating educational applications for middle and high school students with learning disabilities. I was the primary developer for the projects on which I worked, using Adobe Flash and Actionscript to create the applications. I was an integral part of project conceptualization and planning, and lent my skills as a designer and narrator to many of the applications. I was part of—and led—several user-testing sessions and studies for the applications with students from local schools.

I designed the logo for this independent record label out of Utah. The logo appears on CDs, T-shirts, posters, and other merchandise as well as the Sound VS Silence website.

Pleased with my work on the gift card app, this client hired me again to add an eCommerce component to their existing site. I installed and customized X-cart, assisted with product population, integrated the software with the client’s merchant account, and provided support as the client and his employees learned to use the new software.

I have been fortunate to work on several iterations of the website for this quarterly fashion magazine. Previously, I built a feature-rich website complete with a custom-built content management system for keeping the site fresh and current, and a banner ad management application to maximize revenue. Eliza’s popular WordPress blog was seamlessly integrated into the website. Later, I was commissioned to convert the entire site to the WordPress framework to the client’s exacting design specifications.

RSVP Events

RSVP Events is a client I’ve been fortunate to work with for several years and on multiple projects. My most recent project for this West Michigan based event coordinator was a comprehensive rebrand. I developed a new flash-based website showcasing some of this client’s best work. I also provided RSVP with a new logo, a user-friendly WordPress blog, and a social networking presence.
